How HSC works:

HSC FullyDrawn SmallCell brood frames create an unfavorable environment for Varroa Mite by:

1) Severely restricting the area available for drone production. (Varroa multiplies up to 12x faster on drone brood than on worker brood. Restricting drone brood delays the onset of significant varroa populations.)

AND

2) Restricting the cell volume needed by the varroa mite to develop concurrently with the worker bee brood. (The period that the cell stays uncapped is slightly reduced and the time to hatch is also slightly reduced as well as the mite will have almost no room to coexist with the brood in the small cell.)
